She took out the inner belt, put a piece in to make it longer, cut off the top of the skirt to about an inch in depth, sewed the inner belt on again and it was as good as new and fits very nicely. They were very cordial and I enjoyed talking to them. When it was almost time for me to go, Rachel Blake's husband, Mr. Mahoney, came in to see Mr. Blake; he was out, however so mr. M. didn't stay long. he is very much tanned, from the Mexican sun, I suppose. Mr. Blake went out shortly after I arrived, so I didn't get to see him. Miss Ross showed me his room.
