 It was a pleasure to know that my "squib" in Soc Progress struck you so favorably and the mental energy shown in your letter is really remarkable. I only

wish I cd. respond in similar manner, but I am forced to confer that my energies are at a rather low ebb just now while my immediate responsibilities are more pressing than usual so that I wd not have either the time nor the strength to take on anything more.

 The past two years - since we started to close the old folks' home in July 1954 and began wearing series of attempts to work out some way to get some earnings

coming in to replace the modest but sufficient income we had been recvg from the o.f.home - have been hard on both of us,
