Dear Jack,

It doesn't appear - at the moment - that I can attend the affair for Will Wharton. Some in-laws from Wisconsin are spending the week-end in town.

  However -  I hope a lot of people can attend - and just as many buy a copy of his book. I am enclosing a check to cover the cost of a copy for myself - plus a little for postage.

Now - I may be able to attend and will bring a friend - if I can make it.
