I would like to know how the play project is developing & hope that your literary problems are more than solved - solved to your satisfaction if not delight. Are things brighter for you now? And when you had your interviews did you oppose Dr. Fiedler's opinion of Montana faces? I hope you saw where duty called in that respect.
I do hope your blessed single estate can soon be achieved without loss of your Gary roots and without a permanent financial responsibility. I can't see how a court could expect you to support an ex-wife when there are no children to consider. In most cases where alimony is granted for children, a wife often has trouble collecting. I've known of many such cases. I'm glad there was nothing like that between Norman & me. It could be quite messy.
Weather bright & blue there; rainy & cloudy here! It follows me, I'll swear.
The second studio I investigated had a photographer with more sense and less mouth. The proofs are actually useable. Maybe I will get a job in New York State! Then this summer I'll try an assault on the City proper.

written in left margin Doug carved his jack-o-lantern the other night. Holidays do bring back memories. Dec. is extra rough because of Christmas, Doug's birthday (10th) L's birthday 30th) Dad's (6th) and memories of my divorce (Dec 24, 1945) and my moving from L's (Dec. 16, 1953). Is it a hard month for you? I'll feel relieved when it's over.
