Mabel was over for an hour or so yest'y and has  a stack of engagements ahead of her for the next week or so -
 Thursday aft yours came this morning to make me happy. You didn't mention temperature tho the papers give -1 [degree] as of Tuesday's temp.

 I can add a little to the history of the Monadnock, named by the brilliant young architect Dwight Perkins. His mother, a widow was a very intimate friend of Aunt Althea Ogden. Aunt A's office was in the Government building (across the street from the Monadnock) and housed the post office, the Pension Office, where I worked, and U.S. Marshalls office, etc. etc.  I saw the old bldg demolished that preceded the M- and watched the building of it, because I knew Dwight - We were all members of Jenken Lloyd Jones' All souls Unitarian Church. some of the architects sneered at D.'s
