Mrs.Raab manager of the hotel said she wasn't feeling just right. It may be family troubles. Her father, who used to be a singer in a troupe with Mme Shuman-Heink, is rather sporty, imbibes too freely at times and spends his money instead of handing it to Mabel's step-mother. He has been straight all summer. His wife went to the N.Y. fair and he came over from their home in Ft. Meade twice a week to see Mabel and she felt so happy that he was "straight". So if he has tanked up again she will be heartbroken. But I think she should have left a note at least to explain. I ate all the ice cream - 30 cents worth - and two cookies that Mrs. Walker, a neighbor of Mr's L's gave me. We had a doctor for Mrs L. yesterday. He found a high blood pressure of 200 and a leaky mitral valve along with hardening of the arteries. We have been giving her bromides on his prescription, and she has been quieter today.
