My darling child:

 The books etc. are here. They came Thursday, but as I have been getting books and pamphlets lately and having them sent to the school-house, Mrs. Woodruff, who does all of our expressing to be delivered, so they came this morning. Mother's shoes fit and so do my pumps. Both very satisfactory. Am especially please with the leather heels and good material in the pumps. But Tafern, where are my black lace oxfords, rubber heel, (nurse's shoes) $2.25?  My heart pants
