Friday aft. Darling Tafern:

 Have just a few minutes until time to start supper. Seems as tho I hadn't time for anything anymore except to make toast, coffee and pancakes,

fry potatoes etc. for bkfst, roast something and myself for dinner, and fry again for supper and chase ants. The despicable ants! how can I get rid of them? Went to the school this forenoon and acted as one of three judges in cooking contest - 5 girls, 5 prizes - two boys who tried for fun and beat the girls, the they were in separate relays. First girl got $5 - the fifth got $1.25 All did well. Am in

on side: Richart paid the note to Grandmother, so we are not worrying at present moment. We "b'long to begin" tho about next October. Very warm day times but cool nights. Tairu, rec'd all magazines - Many thanks. Please send me some of those dried herbs, summer savory etc.
