Philadelphia July unclear1870 My dear friend

I arrived safely in Philadelphia and Mr. Child sent someone to meet me but I miss them but I got there just as safe as if I had any one with me. Miss Hancock has got home and Miss Munro is with she got here Saturday night I thank you very much for your kindness to me I like you very well indeed you seem to be so kind to any one you have been very kind to me on board the boat coming from Charleston when I got to Mr. Child's house I was very unclear for I thought I would get lost but I did not get lost there very safe indeed about three days after I could feel the rocking of the boat - I thought every way I walk I would fall down but after a while I got over it and so I am getting along very well now. Your friend Catherine Maxwell
