June 6. 1934 566 Hillside ave, Glen Ellyn, Ill.

Dear Grandma, I am so sorry I have not written sooner, but the days go so fast it seems as though I could never find time to write to you, but I am writing now so here goes. I want to thank you very much for the coconut you sent me. I guess it was the best I ever have tasted and it had so much milk in it and it sure was good. Many things are happening nowadays in good old Glen Ellyn, the first one is that about two weeks ago Doc Johnson's barn burnt down to the ground. And not much remains of anything. The second item is that about all of Glen Ellyn is getting ready for the centenial with [sic - which] is to be held June 10 to 17. I think all the shop windows are decorated with old fashioned furniture of years ago. The end from your loving Grandson, Marvin over.
