 Dear Grandma,
I received your letter and the gift Thursday morning, for which I want to thank you very much. I have not as yet cashed it for I wish

to save it for a rainy day. I believe that it will help out very nicely for a swimming ticket, but so far the weather has been too cold. I think that the hottest day so far this year has not been over 80 and it has very seldom gotten over 75. Right now the temperature is just 65 but it is steadily going up.

My birthday was a very happy one My Mother gave me a shirt (not a skirt) and a model airplane to build. My Father has promised to teach me how to drive. And uncle Sam sent me finest bathing suit you could ever find.
Cousin Martha is over from North Chicago for a few days. She came on Thursday so she could see Malcolm Graduate
