X The upper part of the Brazos from general report appears to be a very fine country, particularly the lands watered by its Western tributaries such as the San Andres or little river, San Garbuil &c.
On account of the many falls in the upper part of the Brazos I am informed by a gentleman who has lately explored that part of the Country, there can be no better place for ?esting?, flour, ?an, & other mills. Not long since the Steamer 'Mustang' from Galveston came up the Brazos to Washington & even went higher up, to village 20 miles of Nashville, discharged her weight, & returned with a cargo of cotton.
