Visited the Springs that form San Pedro creek, the waters gush out in great quantities from the 'rotten limestone' rock which said rock appears to have been formed from probably the primitive limestone of the interior. Some twenty five miles from San Antonio there are very extensive sulphur springs which are in considerable repute for scorbutic patients, the principal spring bubbling up with such force, & although very deep, a person throwing himself in can only sink up to his waist.

An Emigrant having one or two laboro say of 50 or 60 acres could farm all he needed & graze any quantity of stock & sheep on the adjoining prairies & upon the very best pastures.
