The New York Express of Tuesday says:
" A somewhat mysterious circumstance occurred on Friday last, that has excited considerable interest with those interested? A gentleman by the name of Robert Lamb, very respectably connected in England, applied to the owners of the London line of packets for the freight of two fine tigers he had brought with him from the Rocky Mountains, and which were then on board a canal boat. He made arrangements with the packet owners to advance him one hundred dollars, to pay the expenses already incurred, received the money and delivered the tigers on board the packets - since which he has not been heard of."
