The following is from Senor Mauchaca, a great grand son of one of the settlers from the Canary islands -

  The tribes of Indians subdued by the Missioneros were the Adacs or Adaices  The Garanames, ? of Sn Jose and and Los Texas or Texas or Texan indians  at ? Apaches - often rebelled and ran away.     They were comparatively pacific, but to make them cultivate the lands, ?  the Missions, their own dwellings & learn the Christian doctrine considerable coercion was necessary at times.   They sometimes at the commencement rebelled against their spiritual Masters, but the Military at the Alamo kept them generally in order.  The Missionaries were Franciscans, & others of the order Guadalupe de Zacaticos.  About 1800 or a little later the Missionaries left, & it would appear that nearly all the indians had died - in the Records of the
