My patrons having considered that my health was sufficiently restored as to make another attempt to pursue my studies, and accordingly by their advice on the 12 October I was placed under the care & instruction of the Rev. Mr. Welch of Mansfield. From this Rev. Gentleman & his Lady with whom, I claimed a relationship, I was treated with such tenderness, as if I was their own natural child.
