hampton  Long Iland [sic: Island]     Longmeadow  19th 1805
   My affectnate Friend  It is with pleasure and satisfaction having this opportunity to fulfil my engagement, and I am in great hast to write a few lines to my good friend

and cousin, and hoping that these lines will find my friend well & happy as for my self I am much better then when I was at East hampton. __ let us bless God my friend for all the mercies & blessing which we receive from him.

 I hope our minds is in the Divines things & that which is belong to our immortal souls 
 ___ oh pray to God for me that he would enoble me to bear all the evils & triales & temptations which I got to go throught in this life, and that he would raise me up to be

useful in this world and that he would enable me to promote his cause. I fear that I am not the true followo follower? of Christ, oh that God would carry on his work in our hearts what he has perform already. _ let us live by faith till we shall live by sight ___
