168 to obey his mother, the ravens of the valley shall pick it out & the young eagles shall eat it. Those curseth his father or his mother, their lamp shall be put out in obscure darkness.

  It has been remarked that those children who have been kind & dutiful to their parents have asually been blessed in the World & promised of ? Com. & fulft. God has given them kind & dutiful children as a recompense; & on the other hand, those also have been disobedient, unnatural & cruel to their parents have been cursed with the like treatment from their children.  Let children then as they hope for peace of conscience, the blessing of their parents - quietness in death, & approbation from God, practice the duties they owe their earthly parents & obey them in the Lord.
 2.  If such are the duties of children equally important & bind.g are the duties of parents. On them a two fold oblig. to recompense to their own parents & present duties unclear
 To you, O parents, God has commited an important & solemn charge: The care of your children to train them up in the knowledge & fear of God, - to qualify them for a virtuous & useful life in the World & for the holy & happy state of the righteous beyond the grave. If they perish through your neglect, their ?arels will be required at your hands. Their reputation & usefulness in the World, under God depend much on your faithful instructions & good example, and on you may also depend in a degree their condition in the future world.
