Agreeably to the request of the Rev. Gentlemen Committee, I give a general notice to the tribe of the laudable object of "the Northern Missionary Society, and the intended visit of the Committee, either at Hamilton College or Oneida Castle. To my regret, however, I found there was coldness to the object among the chiefs & of co?ense among the warriors. Not surely for want of respect & veneration of their old & departed venerable chief, but the treatment the nation had received? as they supposed, from "the Northern Missionary Society" on the warent? of their land in Westmoreland which had been committed in trust
