           I arrived home all right found Sarah pretty well she had a rather hard time one day while I was gone, but is better now, she says she is well repaid for taking care of Alex while he was sick, he is perfectly devoted to her now, every minute that can be spared he is there Thomas' trunk has come but he has not yet but will in a few days I presume he was at Cincinatti Saturday when he wrote and sent the check for his trunk, one of those tubs of butter is bad, the other is excellent, so it is just as well you did not have the trouble
