room quite warm and comfortable. Today I set, for the first time this month. I managed to get up a galley column, and Lewis has a few stickfulls more- towards the next no.

Wm. Pritchard, Glyn. has been drawing wood for us this afternoon. - A thousand and one things every day remind us of our absent ones and it would be hard for you to imagine how lonely it is without you- especially Eddie- you know he has never been gone before and we miss him more on that account, I think. - I am going to the village for the mail and must not write much more as the rest have almost finished supper. If you want anything from home write immediately and we may receive the letter before Mary goes down. - I wrote to Elizabeth yesterday and sent Sarah's last letter.

Dear Eddie;- Jennie has left a little corner in which I take the liberty of writing a line to you. I need not tell you that we miss you, nor that we long to know just how you are getting along: you know all about such things. We are getting along pretty well, quite as well as I thought we could without you. I will try to write a letter to you soon. How do you and David like being cooks, kitchen girls and everything else?

       Sarah.
