Tues. morn. Eddie did not rest very well last night, his bowels pained him some. He is looking pretty bright this morning. We hope he is not really worse if he is any but of course we feel anxious. We are very careful not to give him anything to eat but by the Drs orders. What do you mean by solid food? When he takes toast he has it soaked very soft in milk. He has only had gruel and a little beef tea since yesterday. We gave him a little ver? tender chicken once day before yesterday but it was only with the Dr's express orders. Mr. Lewis came in the same evening and talked business with him for about an hour and we think perhaps that hard him. Try not to be too anxious. I hope I can give you a brighter report tomorrow. I shall
