I with you, dread the event of an election for two Senators by the next Legislature. of one there is no doubt, if the gentleman will allow his name to be used. I mean Mr. Forsyth. but if Col Frank resigns, I fear much for the event as to the other. The annual standing candidate will no doubt offer again, and I think his pereseverance will have a better chance of being crowned with success than heretofore. it is understood that Mr. Elliott of LIberty County is alao a candidate, but I fear he is not strong enough, altho' I would prefer him much to the other, or to any one I know, who has been called a Federalist. Those who could be elected will not serve, and those who are not wishsed for, will be pushing themselves forward; and under the present state of things I really fear the worst. Governor Bibb has not yet returned to Georgia, and I am fearful I shall not have the pleasure of seeing him here, as I expect to proceed to Chatahoochie, and from there to the Alabama next month, to take the Evidence, and locate the claims of the friendly Indians
