New Hampton, Oct. 1, 1867.
Dear sister Mary
We received a letter from you Saturday containing 10 dollars. we have now $30. for our journey home. This will be enough if we do not have any trouble in any way in unlooked for expense. We would feel a good deal better if we had a little more but we dont know as it will be worth while for you to send any, as perhaps we can get along comfortably with what we have. If you do send another $5. had we not better yet $1. or so worth of thread, it is only six cents a spool here and you know this is a good deal cheaper than we can get it at home. Please mention about it when you write . And so, Mary, you have really decided to
top margin: Anna is going slowly and I hope she will still continue to after we get home.
