My dear Anna,
This morning we were much pleased by a budget of letters from home. One from Eddie, one from Lettie, and two from Mary. There was none from you, so I think that the most impartial for me to

notes to some of the others, or perhaps Sarah can, but we cannot write a letter to each this time. Many thanks for Eddie's letter, it did us both a great deal of good. I shall try to answer Letitia's before long. Tell Mary that her letter was well received and appreciated, as from herself. It was pretty well seasoned, but I think I should have relished it better if it was a little less sweet you know I am fond of sour things, letters, though, are not good too sour.
