My Dear Son
The enclos'd I sent by Charles but he forgot to hand it to you the errants are of not such immediate importance as to need attention till Charles goes down tho' I was sorry he didn't hand you the letter I'll send it along with this. I write at this time to say that the French Dictionary Ann wants is not any where to be found in our "diggins,, it must be that you have got it there or else Isaac has taken it perhaps. As we do not have to send the Dictionary we think it best not to send Upham as C. is going down in 2 weeks probably and its cheaper you had rather wait than pay your nine pence. Charles perhaps told you how he had a Dun from the pump man whom he suppos'd Mr. Walkers had paid as he aggreed to - this occur'd sometime ago and C. when he was dun'd was provoked and wrote Walker a scolding letter and told if he had any honestly or honor he would settle it up immediately -- he call'd on Walker when he was down but he was not in didn't see him - he guesses it will all be well but I wish you would ascertain whether W. has settled it or forget it again - as C. will have a Writ soon if tis not. N.B. Will you to relieve Mr. Dolens mind ascertain where where Eliza Dolen is and how she is or get Lucy to so that Albina can get the story when she goes down or better write it to me & I'll tell her A.M.M.
