Sabbath eve I just spoke with George coming out of meeting he said he had a letter from Nettie last night - & that Eliab had been there without Mallie & Irving from which we infer that Irving is sick & we feel very anxious you may be sure __ This is the fourth letter - one to Anna one to Isaac one to Nettie & this - since receiving one word from any of you - now what will you say for yourselves

I have heard what I thought a very excellent sermon by

Proff Shepard __ But George don't like him or rather he said he was very much disappointed in him at first - however it seems to me he must have like'd the sermon this afternoon __ I had a good long letter from Samuel a few days since - he has bought a farm at Cottage Grove - but I think he will not stay there very long. They are boarding with Theodore now.

Since After he left St. Paul he has had some kind of a

proposal about a steam mill - he did not say he should accept it but perhaps he will & go back there. I am so sorry Mallie could not visit you she wanted to so much. But I will hope that Irving got well & return'd there with them - But why have they not written to us I fear it is because of sickness - It was too much to shew him off at so many places - & it is lamentable that the tyrant fashion should be permitted so to torment & abuse little innocent Children. Do write some of you- all of you to your ever loving Mother
