I feel sorry for Mary She is a real good affectionate little girl - but she gets scolded so much & for what she can hardly help doing - She teases her Mother a good deal to let her be a boy yesterday she got on a hat & one of the boys old jackets & so we call'd her John her Mother went to the door a while after & found she had an axe chopping away on a stick of wood & call'd to her to come away she said my name is n't Mary I'm John, cant I chop if I'm John I have delay'd sending my letter to the PO by one mail hoping to get a letter from Isaac before sending it - Have been cutting out Jackets for Charlie & Josie out of Charles wedding coat got them both out nicely after some contriving with Albina to help There is work enough here to do Albina has a lot of sewing to do I've a chance to send to the PO this minute So good bye with much love to you all Mother
