Bangor Aug 27th/54 My very Dear Boy, I will just inform you that you have a little niece born Saturday morning Aug 26th, 7 1/2 oclock weighed 7lbs - both mother & baby not merely comfortable but smart Maria says she could come down stairs this morning as well as not - they think it is all owning to the use of sitz bathes that she is so smart & well - but probably she will not feel so well a few days hence as she does now

We think Percie is better but he has been better & worse again to many times. he has not been so any day except one or two, when he was so sick 2 weeks ago but he would look back about & play a little- but cannot go alone - tho' he did a little when I first came here. Lucy has had a hard time this summer She looks now more like a ghost than a well person. She cannot recruit herself very much till Percie gets better I try to help her some but you know the mother is all in all for a sick child tho' he is very contented with me if she is not in sight
