Bangor August 7th
My Dear Dear boys, I feel exceedingly anxious to hear from you I have written you 3 letters I believe certainly 2 since I have had any from you
Albina & I both wrote the day that she had your letter containing your decision to stay longer I have written 2 or 3 time since & she has every week - I dont know what to say to you Charles about staying so long - there are reasons enough why you need to be at home some of which I will mention one is Walters wife expects to be sick in Nov. or Dec. and he talks that he wants to go to provide a place to live. I dont see why he would not be content to stay where he is as he can not do much work and has no home but his wife wants to be keeping house however it is very natural that he should want to know just what you would be willing to give etc. etc. He painted the house one over in the spring except the back side and the piazza then it was time to do something else - or he was not well enough - there is some paint left which is drying all up - and numerous things might be thought of which you need to attend to - none of very great moment but
top of letter upside down You ought perhaps to let Albina know just how long you intend to stay & endeavor to make her feel reconciled to it. It is possible that Lucy or Almeda will take Charlie bye & bye a while Do write to me
