Cedar grove Milo July 25th /54 My Dear boys We are all in good health - It has been cloudy & rainy a little & we are not at Man at work Walker is here but not able to work - Dr DeWitt & wife & daughter return'd here this evening from Brownville All the household are asleep as I suppose but I - I happen to be thinking of you that are far away not without fear that you are sick this hot weather & so I have arisen from my bed & lit my candle to tell you of it -Albina does "mourn in her complaint and make a noise" because she is so disappointed that Charles did not come home - indeed she has been as it were constantly disappointed ever since May or June for she would in spite of me keep expecting him week after next or next week all the time - I dont see but we are all getting along tolerably comfortably & are likely to be except that A. feels so bad sometimes she is some what chicken hearted - She really cannot bear with any "fortitude so much as most people you & C. must consider that and one other thing i.e. the probability of getting sick you know you got the fever & ague the first summer you were there what reason can you have for thinking that Charles will not - & N.B. I make this particular request not only that you both be very careful of your health but that you both try to console and pacify Albina and especially tell as near as you can just how long C. intends to stay She has now
