My Dear Son I have been here at Brother Josephs all this last week rather expecting to have a chance to get into Northfield but have now heard the Sad news that, Dear little Will is gone How do Joseph & Jane bear thier deep affliction. I have had an unusually anxious desire ever since I've been about here for thier Spiritual Welfare- they seem to be a lovely couple. O that this bereavement may bring them near to God.

  Probably it will not be best for me to go there at present if at all I should be glad to do anything for thier comfort that is in my power. But you know they have nearer and dearer friends. Do pray for them. I shall stay here till Brother returns from the funeral & then go to Sister Conants & perhaps to Winchester a few days. I had a letter from Almeda last night they were all well I guess they work very hard there - Brother Joseph goes to Greenfield next week (25th I believe) perhaps I could come with him if tis best but I doubt some tho' ? very much ended whether I had better at all I hope it will be so that you can go to Royalston while I am there?
