"rather not,, say so plainly right off. Jane is very well & "Strong as a Moose,, & most as wild - tho' I think she has improv'd very much in governing Temper & Tongue. So it worth while, if I go down to let Charlie go down with me & Stay till his Father & Mother goes down. Charles I believe is determined to inflict a visit upon you sometime this fall or first of winter. When does Frances want to go away. Mrs. Livermore has not sent home that little peice of Carpeting that she was going to neare about the time I went to Bangor yet-- I have not done any thing at rugs & guess I shall not for the time seems to be all taken up - with I don't know what - Mussing & "Fussing,,. I have cover'd a box for a cricket knit a pr Stockings for Sewing Circle, Trim'd Lucy's Sack with some old black Fringe that you or Ann gave to Almeda - it looks -passably well - Black velvet on the sleeves & buttons.

Charles in Husking evenings - he does work very hard - has been troubled with piles considerably last summer occasioned by heavy hard work. He did about $10 worth of work on Almeda's farm which proved to be a perfect loss to him and her. Keller & Joseph Sargent did her haying and did it faithfully and cheap - write much and often and get well fast by being careful not to get along "too fast,, it hinders a good deal to step & go back every now & then
