I have not seen Olive very recently, but presume she and her family are well. they seem very happy with their little daughter, and why should they not be? Warrens family are not all of them well. Sarah and Aurilla are quite unwell. Aurilla is a very cunning pretty little girl, and I think possesses naturally a sweet disposition - poor Sarah is sadly afflicted with poor health. I think I complain and suffer a good deal, but I am worth twice as much as she - though doubtless I must give way to her in one respect. We expect preaching tomorrow by Rev. Mr. Whitney Presbyterian there has been a Baptist and Presbyterian Church organized in St Paul one at Stillwater - we have several very good ministers, but they spend the most of their time in the villages, and we do not as yet share very largely. meetings in different places have been quite interesting, and I hear that some have joined the different churches; Oh how I wish we could have a revival of religion here, how much we need it, and professors most of all. I long for spiritual blessings more than any temporal good there is abundance of infidelity in this country, some open and avowed but more concealed under the specious name of Universal Salvation pray for us, pray earnestly that we may all share in forgiving grace. Dear Lucy how I long to see you, and drink in your words, it would refresh my spirit I am sure --are you as averse to coming here as when you were married? do come and make us a good visit at least. I cannot think you will ever regret money thus spent. I would be glad to visit you, every year, instead of weaning me from New England, only increases my desire to visit it once more. I believe I could be contented to come back. and spend the remainder of my life here in the west, if I could go to the east once more and stay till I was satisfied. I should want however, some of my family to return with me if not all
