Quite a serious accident happened to Mrs Parsons last evening - she with another lady and Mr Adams' hired man were riding into the city - as they were coming down College hill, the Horse became unmanageable and ran - Mrs. P jumped out of the carriage and was very seriously injured - she was insensible during the night but the Physician thinks she is better this morning and that she will recover - after Mrs. P jumped out the man followed suit leaving the other lady alone in the carriage - which upset as it struck the railroad track at the crossing - she however very fortunately escaped with a few trifling bruises - the man escaped without any injury whatever except being frightened to death "Paddy fashion" - this morning there 2 Steamers at the Levee discharging their cargoes which consisted of all kinds of mdse from the east - - saw some Dutchmen who were digging a cellar back a Horse & Cart down the embankment into the hole which was about 6 feet deep - this was a most awkward piece of business - after laying down some planks they finally succeeded in getting him out - anything for excitement -
