Chicago, Aug 10th 1888 H.B. Stone Esq Gen'l Mgr. C.B. & L. R.R. City Dear Sir: Following you will please find report of Opr R.Y. Wednesday, Aug 8th/88 Today in ? acting under instructions received from Master Mechanic McDaniel, Opr remained around town and visited the different places where the strikers hang out, during the day but did not hear or see anything of importance concerning them Opr. saw Mr. McDaniel this evening and he said he had spoken to the man who takes care of the switch lamps and that they would be fixed. Opr. went to the yards at 7:30pm and found that the two switches he spoke of in his former reports had no lamps on, although switches of no importance and that are not on the main track had lamps on, and it seems to be neglect on the part of the man who puts up the lamps.
