supper and returned to his room at 7.30 PM. unclear was a light in Hoge's room for a few minutes about 8 O'Clock and then it was dark the rest of the evening up till 10 O'clock. There is considerable walking up and down the hall by the guests and a hall boy is stationed in a chair in front of the passage to the elevator which is but a few steps from Opr's room. Hoge's room has a connection with room No 32 and Opr thinks unclear with 36 but is not quite sure as to that. The chambermaid had just commenced to woke up the room, there was also a girl in Hoge's room and two other girls at work in the room in the same hall. Opr spoke to the girl in his room, just passing the time of day and leaving some change made in the bed covering. She was not at all backward and rather inclined to be talkative being a young Irish girl. She did but little in Oprs room as it is rather small and no bath attached and therefore the girl did not remain long.
