in any trouble that may arise as he had heard there was stones thrown, windows broke and a switchman was assaulted on the street: he arrived at Creston at 2.25 PM. Opr being unknown traveled among the strikers all "Knights" and Brotherhood men and found the feeling very bitter towards the company and thinks there will be trouble if the guards are drawn away as was proposed by Supt Brown. Opr. expects there will be trouble there when the new men get paid and nothing else of importance occuring he discontinued. Friday Apr 13th/88 Today Opr. reports everything was quiet in Creston untill 7.40 PM at which time 4 of the new men were assulted and one of the party unclear finely being knocked down fired 2 shots at the strikers but without any effect. Opr says he knows the parties and will try to have them prosecuted tomorrow. They too the revolvers away from the man that did the shooting and followed another to the Hotel and knocked him down with a revolver. Yours Respectfully Pinkertons National Det Agency by Wm. A.
