Chicago April 10" 1888 H.B. Stone Esq Gen Manager C.B. & Q R.R. City Dear Sir Following please fine report of F.S. Monday April 9" 1888 Today in Ottawa Opr says that at 9.30 last night as officer Adolple Bueben? was patrolling his beat at the east end of the yard, he states that there was a mob of men between the Burlington and Roen Island tracks who commenced to thrown stones at him so rapidly that he could not get out of the way without getting hurt so he drew his revolver and fired in the direction of the mob which attracted the attention of Opr as well as ll of his men, and in about three minutes time ten of them were on hand ready for an attach.
