Chicago Illinois October 10th, 1888 H.B. Stone Esq General Manager C.B.+unclear R.R. City Dear Sir, Following find report of unclear dated at Galesburg. Thursday Oct 14th, 1888, and Oct. 5th, 1888, unclear reports as follows. I met Ed Rogers at the Clifton Hotel at 8.30 a.m. we went to the While Elephant saloon and played pool. We met Elmer Work at 10.30 a.m. corner of Prarie and Main Sts. Rogers asked Work if there was nay more news. Work replied nothing new only a Wreck. Two Engines smashed up. Rogers asked me to go and play poker in a room up unclear Flynns Saloon. I told him I did not care about playing- we then went to the Clifton House. at 11.30 a.m. Stamburg came he asked me if I had noticed a man with a full beard sitting around the Clifton lately! I told him I had. he then he then told us that the mans name is Lee and that he was in the employ of the Company as "Spotter" Jim Boyd Jr. saw Lee write 2 letters addressed to Mr. Stone Chicago, Stamburg told us that the Switchman and unclear get paid to morrow. R. Martin went to Chicago for the money- after dinner we went to Room 6. which is Stranburgs room. and played Cards for the Cigars
