H.B. Stone Esq Chicago Aug 21st 1888 Dear Sir: Following you will please find report of Opr. A.C.J. Monday, Aug 20th 1888 Today in Chicago Ass't. Supt. G.C. Mc? introduced to me a man named Gibbons who acts as guard on the suburban passenger train on the C.B.& L. R.R. Gibbons gave me particulars as to statement made to the Company's Agent at Western Ave. crossing respecting the wrecking of a Freight train some time ago. I was informed that a man named Albert Schuman or Schideman had stated that at the time when the wreck occurred, he was in the immediate vicinity and saw the man who threw the switch and can identify him and several others who were with him. Gibbons has ascertained that Schuman resides somewhere in the neighborhood of Kinzie & Wood Its and having received further instructions from J.C. Mc?. I left the Agency at 12:30p.m. on purpose to locate Schuman, and obtain from him a correct statement as to what
