Chicago July 23d 1888 HB Stone Esq Genl Manger ? R.R. Chicago Dear Sir: Following find report of J.F.F. dated at Chicago July 21st 1888. At 10:30 p.m. by Order of Assist SUpt McGinn Opr left Chicago for Aurora via ? R.R. Train for the purpose of protecting Alec Smith and bringing him to Chicago on Monday morning as Supt McGinn wanted to see him. Opr arrived in Aurora at 11:40 and went to the Gramps Hotel and put up for the night, In the morning after breakfast. Op walked up to North Aurora and went to Smiths House until 7a.m. this morning (July 23d) when in company with Smith I reached Chicago and reported at the agency and turned Smith over to assist Supt Murray coming in on the train Bauersen and 5 or 6 Brotherhood men were on the train they pointed Smith out to the passengers and Railroad men at the stations along the return trip, as the Squealer when they arrived at the Depot in Chicago
