Dear Sir Following please find the report of Supt. McGinn Dated at Chicago Friday July 20th 1888 Today in Chicago Opr. was with Mr Daws making arrangements to have Bowles placed in the County Jail. For the Marshall could not keep him unless he kept Broderick ? saw Sheriff Matson and obtained permission from him to have Bowles placed in the Boys department of the jail. The Sheriff gave Opr a note to Jailer Holtz to this effect. Opr saw Mr. Holtz at the Jail and he places Bowles in the Boys department I also saw Bowles at the jail and had him sign both statements that he made to Mr Stone and Ewing, in Ewing's office. Mr. Daws instructed Opr to give Ben Price money for to pay for Bowles keep and for cigars and some paper and Opr gave Mr Price $5.50 and also to buy a mattress blanket, sheets and pillows for Bowles while in jail in order to make him as comfortable as possible.
