Opt left them there -- went to supper. at the restaurant listened to a conversation between two Strangers -- that they (the strangers) would not be surprised at all if the Brotherhood did not come out all right from this struggle -- one of them said. "the Brotherhood have thousands of men, working and all of them pay so much into the cash: and that should they win now. that after year or two they would be bold enough to ask for anything they had a mind to, and all there would be to do would be to give in to them: -- they said That this was a strike on principal and that the Other roads ought to help the "G?." or they the "G?" would have lots of trouble ahead. -- the other man listened and said nothing Opt could not learn who the men were.

     Opt then left and went to find his men, found Frisby still at Youngs. then went around the Streets met Mortimer again, on B-way.  then shortly after met Barlow and Hays.  they all went to No 10 B-way played Dominoes there:  Opt wanted to leave them but had no excuse to get away, so stayed till 8.45
