There are very few strikers around in the Evening a very few at Youngs. The Strikers had a meeting: Tom Hornly asked Mears what was done at the meeting Mears said that there was a letter read from some Lodge from Chicago which came to try and get the exact no of men out of work now.

Opr further reports that while in Young Bros Cigar Store he overheard a conversation about a letter which had been recieved by the Lodge here coming from St. Louis and a striking Engineer said that Bauevisu? wrote it and Santhey? said no it must be from Lodge.

Santhey? and Dutchy Koegle were together a great deal today: Koegle was drinking Whiskey in unclear and wanted to make a bet of Twenty Dollars on a foot race. Later while in Young's Cigar Store, Opr talked with Young, Mears, Freeman, De Gerald Nickson and others and Opr was asking if the R.R. Co was doing any where near the business it did before the strike and Young said not any where near half. why, the Brother hood know pretty near every thing that goes on and this train that leaves here for the East is not Carrying enough passengers to pay the crews that run the trains. And all these scab Engineers have to go to a school at the Different divisions where they are taught like school children what to do. Young said "just wait till after the St Louis Convention is over. and something will happen that will surprise every body. Op said why
