and I have renewed our acquaintance. He "sits and sings" at the hall, and so do I sometimes. I judge he is a good-hearted clever fellow. What a deal of rainy weather we have. It rains every other day, regularly, here. Good season for grass I suppose- but Strawberries will be rather tart I fear. The blossoms promise an abundance of fruit. I expect to go home somewhere about the first of July, so I shall get the Strawberries. I feel much better than when you were here. Whether my ride up country is the cause, or the medicine Dr. McRuen gave me or the change of boarding place, or all three combined, I know not. This is a fine place up here; so different from down on Harlow St. Low, damp, foggy (mornings) and dusty there - no good air. Here we get real country breezes. State is a very handsome street, lined with elms on both sides. Besides I do love to live in the Sunshine. The sunshine of the health is not in presence of Mrs. Thaxter nowadays. Her health is very poor - nervous, irritable, etc. Mr. Thaxter is a very estimable man. I did'nt laugh once then where I do five times here.

Sam brought me the second Vol. of "Washington and his Generals" tother night. Have you read the work yet? It is very indeed interesting. I should admire to read his "Bonaparte ad his Marshalls".
Have you ever read it, or travels in Italy? The boys have some idea of getting a Carryall, Saturday before the 4th and taking Ann, Liz. Quimby & I to Milo, leave me there and come back Mon. As the 4th come Sabbath day, Mond. will be celebrated & Ann won't have to keep school. Won't that be nice? I am going home you know, and they all need the ride. Do write good long letters often. Angella Dennett returns to Milo soon as also Mehitable Furber. She is visiting in N.H. now, returns in a week or two. Good bye Affectionately
