I am well enough. It has been very sickly in Bangor this winter. Lucy complains very frequent. Dr. Mc. Ruen as you have probably seen by the papers, has gone to Scotland on a visit. Daniel Dow was buried yesterday. Been sick a long time - Consumption. This is a hastily written & horrid looking letter, but do excuse it & write me a good long one soon. I shall probably be in Bangor in the course of a fortnight. Very affectionately, Sister Lucy.

[right-hand side] Write if you want anything we can furnish you so that it may be ready when you come. [bottom of page, upside down]Do you hear from, or write to, Almeda very often. She does not write home often. We have written to her since the wedding. Expect a letter from her every day. Charles was much gratified with your letter to him. What about your going to New Hampshire? Don't understand it. To Jos, you wrote Vermont, to us, N.H. What is it? The Rummaries in Milo have elected a board of Select men! Would you have believed it? Your new sister sends love & wishes you success. Wish you had a piece of Wedding Cake - it was very nice.
