           I feel quite impatient to see Almeda's home but mean to let Lucy go up first. Eliab and Lucy had letters from Isaac and Nettie today. Eliab is writing to Isaac this evening. They write in very good spirits, are to stay at Jonesboro' a week or too longer then go up to Du Quoin.
            Nettie writes a very good as well as pretty letter, in just such an easy familiar style as if she was writing to own folks. Mr. & Mrs. Crosby called here last Friday. They had just heard from their son William, he had arrived safely they were very glad and very much relieved for they had begun to feel quite anxious about him.
              Mr. Crosby was in quite good spirits: Mrs. Crosby was arrayed in a new tippet, wristers and new green silk drawn bonnet quite fashionable form and she really looked handsome, she was  delighted with the house, said Margaret is coming home to Thanksgiving to stay all winter.
