I think I am ? wonderfully supported" when there is any work? to so, usually! Day 'fore yesterday I cut ?.

The house of ?- you can't think. I wish you were here, it seems so lively and refreshing to hear six men pounding, whistling, singing, shouting "heave ho," "give beam," "There she goes" "once more" etc. Mr. Tebbets wouldn't have one idle a moment, he says "come boys" and not "go boys" - always speak pleasant, (except when a stupid paddy tried his patience too bad) but in good earnest, and they all seem to know what he means. There were eleven men at work there yesterday ?, carpenters & lathers. If James were here, he could earn from thirty to fifty cents per day lathing, for a few days. I think Charles prospects extremely flattering with two such smart hired men. Mr. Tebbets sister called here yesterday to get some more of "Catherine's" things - after she went away, Mr. T. opened his heart to me about the family. He has been treated shamefully & cruelly - he has had some miserable thoughts & feelings pent up within him since his wife died, besides his sincere grief for her. Says he never mentioned the subject to any person before. I am astonished that I have filled my sheet. good bye - Love to all.
