The evening of Christmas I was invited to a party, could not go of course,- Mrs Shepherd's family (where I board) all went; Lucy had been spending the day with me, so Joseph and Eliab came up in evening and do'nt you think we had a cosy time? I like my present boarding place very much, I have reason to believe that I am among real friends; I have a large pleasant chamber: in it is an air-light, and in that generally a fire. A beautiful, witty, intelligent and noble hearted 'Lizzie', rooms with me, if I had more time, I would tell you more about her. Eliab is really a smart and promising young man, and pleases every one, he is called pretty handsome, but his time is so engrossed with his business and with his 'Sons of Temperance' affairs that I scarcely see him once a month. There is an Antiquarian singing society just formed here for reviving old music that was sung when Mother was a young: they give a Concert New Year's eve, the avails to go to the 'Wood Society:' Mr. Pomroy lectured before the Pilgrim Soc. or to commemorate the landing: had a very full house & was much admired. Our Lyceum has not amounted to much this winter: A new Orthodox Church is just forming meetings to be held at the new Market hall: Prof. Shepherd has offered to give six months preaching I have heard Mr. Walker is one that is going from Mr. P.s & 25 others. I am at the end of my sheet so much be at the end of my letter Your Sister Anna

Template:Side of letter I suppose you must have seen Almeda on your way,- if so write about her.
